Why its important

The goal is to establish and clarify a website or brand's authority on a subject by helping search engines and AI models accurately identify, categorize, and relate the content to known entities. This can be done both with tagging and schemas.

How we use it

This is a foundational strategy for demonstrating expertise and is closely related to meeting high E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) standards that answer engines use to validate content before presenting it to a user.
